Finally, Something of an Update

Hello, friends.

I have removed the 3rd part of Mr. Sweetly from the blog for the time being. There were some things about it that I wasn’t happy with and felt could have been tighter or more cohesive. I am going to go through it and make the necessary changes, and then it will be reposted when I’m happy with it. I will also update it on Reddit if I still can (I don’t see how I wouldn’t be able to). I don’t think it’ll be long at all. The last time I read through it in an attempt to see what I could change, there were less things that I thought, but it could definitely use the overhaul.

Also, I know I’ve been saying for literally years now that Part 4 was coming, but life just kept throwing curve balls. A death in the family, trying to find a place to live, finally moving to a new place, losing my day job, looking for another job, trying to get health insurance to take care of some things that had long been put on the back-burner when they should not have been, etc… All within the span of a year.

I’ve sat down to start it multiple times, tried to approach it a bunch of different ways, and I was never happy with it. I always felt as though it could have been better and that I was just phoning it in. This would frustrate me, and then I’d decide to take a break, and then something else would happen that required my full attention.

However, yesterday, a couple of things happened that inspired me to just buckle down and do it. I’m hoping, after Part 3 is revamped, that Part 4 will be out within a few weeks at most. It’s funny to think I started this when I was twenty-seven, and here I am at thirty (my birthday is next week 😱) still working on it. And I’m still going to be working on it after because the story doesn’t just end with Jimmy Baker. But that’s an update for a future date.

In the meantime, something really cool happened yesterday, as well. Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, one of the podcasts that had done a recording of the first part of Mr. Sweetly, had told me from back then that they wanted to record the full series. After the first part was posted, however, I didn’t hear anything else about it. I figured they had lost interest and I was just happy to have had them do the first part. However, yesterday, I was contacted by them (actually, the Simply Scary Podcast, under the same company, Chilling Entertainment, LLC), and told that they recorded and posted it in it’s entirety thus far. Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I really appreciate it. And, also, if you haven’t yet, please check out the Fierce Ferret Foundry’s Kickstarter. We’re so close to reaching our goal and every little bit counts. You can get a bunch of cool stuff like t-shirts, stickers, and tote bags. And, if we make our stretch goals, messenger bags and hoodies will also be a thing! Besides, and more importantly, you’d be helping a bunch of people trying to make a run at their dreams. We have big plans for the future, including video games (one of which is already in the works), and we won’t be able to do any of that without the support of awesome people like you.
